Overview

We are establishing a new organization, FinDev Canada, to beheadquartered in Montreal. FinDev Canada is a subsidiary of Export DevelopmentCanada. With an initial capitalization of $300 million, FinDev Canada will drawupon a range of financing instruments to achieve development objectives bysupporting private sector initiatives in developing countries.

The private sector has a key role to play as a main driverof economic growth and development. Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) arecritical instruments to facilitate and optimize the contribution of privateinvestment to development. They respond to the specific challenges faced bycompanies operating in developing countries in getting access to the financenecessary to grow their business, they do so while remaining financiallyself-sustaining.
As Canada’s DFI, FinDev Canada will complement other toolsand programs of Canada’s Development Assistance. As a new entrant, FinDevCanada aspires to contribute to the field of development finance with aninnovative, collaborative and business-minded approach. FinDev Canada is currently looking for a senioradministrative professional to fill the role of Office Assistant. The Office Assistant will provide support tothe Managing Director (MD) and the team.

A true partner for FinDev Canada’s MD, the incumbent willexecute the following responsibilities with high levels of professionalism:

Manages the MD calendar proactively, taking charge of dailyand ongoing planning to ensure the effective use of time of the MD
General support and coordination for FinDev Canada’s team.
Identifies, creates and follows specific processes andprocedures to maximize the efficiencies of office work flows to which thesupport is being provided
Set up meetings, and organizing events, including ownershipof logistics (for example, owning agenda, collect/distribute meeting materialsahead of meetings).
Organize and book business travel (domestic andinternational) for the MD and other FinDev Canada employees
Prepare the MD for all Executive and Board meetings,ensuring that relevant materials are ready for review in advance
Ensure that all compliance reporting is completed in atimely manner.
Lead budget planning and quarterly forecasting activities
Manage the flow of information, handling directly, ordirecting that information to the appropriate person for action and ensuringfollow-up
Follow-up on correspondence and requests for information
Develop and produce reports as required
Display complete discretion with respect to handlingsensitive or confidential matters
Maintain close and positive working relationships with the teamThe ideal candidate has demonstrated success as a partner toa senior level executive, thrives under “start-up” circumstances and exercisesinnate discretion.

Screening Criteria

Completion of secondary school
Minimum 3 years of experience as an Office Assistant
Solid knowledge in the operation of computer applications(e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and other related programs)
Experience establishing administrative systems, procedures,and policies
Fluently bilingual in both official languages (French andEnglish)

Assets

Undergraduate degree in Business Administration or CÉGEP
Experience partnering with a senior executive
Experience supporting a Board of Directors
Experience in using social media (for example, Twitter)
Ability to communicate in a third language (Spanish,Portuguese)

Location : The position is based in Montreal, and couldinvolve travel to Ottawa.

Salary Range

$45,000- $67,000 + performance based incentive
